First Lady Erdoğan Meets with Women MPs in Sudan

First Lady Emine Erdoğan, who is accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum, addressed women MPs in Sudan during a meeting chaired by Sudanese First Lady Widad Babiker Omer.

Pointing to the long-standing historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Sudan, First Lady Erdoğan emphasized the importance of further deepening the bilateral relations between the two nations.

Sudanese women MPs, on the other hand, praised the stance Turkey displays in face of the problems in the Islamic world, noting that the projects implemented under First Lady Erdoğan’s auspices set an example to them.

VISITS TO MIDWIFE SCHOOL AND CHILDREN’S REHABILITATION HOME

As part of her programme in Sudan, First Lady Erdoğan also visited the International Midwife Training Center in Khartoum, which was renovated and refurbished by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and presented their graduation certificates to the candidate midwives who completed their training. The First Lady, thereafter, paid a visit to Khartoum Cheshire Home, a rehabilitation home for children with disabilities.
