First Lady Emine Erdoğan, who is accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his visit to Nouakchott, Mauritania, paid visits to Turkish Maarif Foundation Girls’ School and a carpet weaving association for women.
Addressing the students at Girls’ School, First Lady Erdoğan said that Turkish Maarif Foundation schools are the shining stars of Africa and added that she wishes this education investment, which she thinks will boost Turkey-Mauritania relations, to be successful.
First Lady Erdoğan called on the students to continue their university education in Turkey after they graduate. Putting on a special show on the occasion of First Lady Erdoğan’s visit, Turkish Maarif Foundation students also recited “Dua”, a poem by Arif Nihat Asya.
