First Lady Inaugurates TIKA’s Office in Tanzania

Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his Africa tour to Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar, First Lady Emine Erdoğan inaugurated the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency’s office in the Tanzanian capital city of Dar es Salaam.

First Lady Emine Erdoğan, First Lady Janeth Magufuli of Tanzania and TIKA officials attended the opening ceremony, during which 25 battery-operated wheelchairs and 2 incubators were donated to be given to state hospital.

In her speech at the ceremony, First Lady Magufuli thanked Turkey and voiced her gratitude for Turkey’s support to Africa’s development.

Also paying a visit to the National Museum of Tanzania, restored by the TIKA, First Lady Erdoğan said Turkey is a hand of friendship, reaching out to the African continent. Accompanied by ministers’ spouses, First Lady Erdoğan also visited the Village Museum, where tribal life in certain areas of Tanzania is exhibited.
