First Lady Erdoğan explored the National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Art in Algeria. Accompanied by Algerian Minister of National Education Nouria Benghebrit, Mrs. Erdoğan was briefed about the collection of the museum by Curator Houria Cherid.
The National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Art is regarded as one of the oldest museums in Africa. The museum was built in 1838 and inaugurated in 1897.
